Bentway

Located beneath the Gardiner overpass highway in Toronto, the Bentway project is an exploration of public realm development intended to bring vitality to an otherwise underutilized urban asset. By leveraging public private partnerships, the Bentway explores strategies for expanding the public realm beneath the highway infrastructure, through strategic interventions which unify various stakeholder interests and creates usable space out of otherwise disregarded areas within the dense urban core.

DS Studio was part of a team that conducted research, data collection, graphic analysis, mapping studies and created programming guidelines for both stakeholders and the city of Toronto.
