Cairo Bridge

The Bridge of Life is a 300-metre pedestrian bridge located on the Nile River in Cairo connecting the downtown core to Gezira Island. The Bridge of Life is an extension and celebration of civic life surrounding the Nile, offering opportunities for pedestrian activities of everyday Egyptian life to extend seamlessly across the water’s boundary. 

The proposed bridge is both a circulatory route and a destination for locals and visitors alike. It extends the vibrant downtown life across the Nile into Gezira Island. The three braided paths include: a direct 5-minute route, a leisure promenade with lookout points and public seating, and a market route with designated space for commercial activities
